Born in Normandy, France in 1905, Christian Dior was truly a fashion icon of the 20th century. In 1957, after Dior’s untimely death (he choked to death on a chicken bone in a local restaurant)Yves Saint Laurent was named his successor. Currently, Dior is a division of LVMH, quite possibly the largest designer fashion company in the world and home to some of the world’s most popular labels such as Louis Vuitton and Emilio Pucci.
