The Evolution of Oscar De La Renta

Oscar De La Renta is truly a fashion icon of the 20th century. After leaving his home in the Dominican Republic when he was just 18 years old, Oscar began painting in San Francisco. After gaining a significant amount of knowledge through the art of painting, Oscar moved to Spain where he began taking interest in design and fashion. It was here that Oscar De La Renta began drawing sketches for world renowned designer Cristobal Balenciaga. It wasn’t until 1965 that Oscar De La Renta began designing his own signature, ready-to-wear line which immediately became an international success.

Oscar continues to unveil unbelievable designs for men and women of all ages, shapes and sizes. His collection has grown to include handbags, shoes, sunglasses, decorative fabrics, wallpaper, bedding and rugs. With such a wide array of products to choose from there’s no doubt Oscar will remain in the business for many years to come.

Oscar De La Renta’s Signature Style

Oscar De La Renta’s signature style can be described as elaborate. His designs are incredibly detailed and each piece of clothing by this designer should be considered a work of art. Many of his denim designs (along with simple tank tops) appear more casual but his dress designs are absolutely breathtaking. An elusive combination of casually sleek shirts and pants to stunning designer gowns, Oscar has successfully developed an extremely diversified designer label.

Oscar De La Renta is known for creating amazing dresses for all seasons. Although all of his dress designs are amazing, it is his bridal gowns that steal the spotlight in his collection. From intricately detailed, full length wedding dresses to simply designed, cocktail dresses, Oscar’s designs are desired by millions of people all over the world.
