Natural Skin Care
A gentle way to care for your skin
If you have sensitive skin, a natural skin care product may be the solution for you.
Many skin care products contain fragrances and chemical preservatives which can cause skin irritations and severe allergic reactions. Natural skin care products contain botanically-sourced, skin-friendly ingredients like aloe vera, which cools, soothes and hydrates; green tea, a natural antioxidant and detoxifier; honey, also an antioxidant and anti-microbial; rosehip seed oil, an emollient oil with antioxidant properties; shea butter, a moisturizing emollient with anti-inflammatory properties; sweet almond oil, a natural emollient that absorbs quickly into the skin; and tea tree oil, a natural antiseptic.
While the above list is just a sample of botanical ingredients that are gentle on skin, you may find that one or more of the above doesn't work for you. Terms like hypoallergenic soap, natural skin care and natural beauty products don't necessarily mean good for your skin. Many fragrant essential oils such as bergamot, peppermint and rosemary are highly allergenic despite being natural oils. Rose flower oil, which seems similar to rosehip oil, is a fragrant skin irritant and sensitizer.
If you have sensitive skin, your best line of defense is to read labels and study the ingredients in so-called all natural skin care. With time and testing, you can determine which ingredients help and hinder your skin until you have an understanding of what products will work right for you.
How to Shop
Often, specialty skin care products can be expensive, but don’t let cost be a deterrent to healthy, beautiful skin. Check online for wholesale retailers or go straight to the websites of your favorite brands. You can find deals and coupons that will help you save on the products that work for you.
